A woman named Madam C.J. Walker did hair styling because of the Business league she was able to open a mail-order business to sell her hair products in 1905

She believed that black women could also make their own business but they where the ones to go make it happen

What happend in theses years did not effect the African Americans and their fight for freedom but lead into the 1950s to where they really fought examples such as Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, NAACP

The National Urban League improved job opportunities and housing for blacks
More African intellectualls began to publish literature, hisory and groundbreaking sociological studies
Alexander Crummell founded the American Negro Acadamy promoted scholarly publications about African Amaerican culture and history
