Many hunters usually hunted buffalo during the annual buffalo hunt. But, some skilled Metis hunters hunted Moose, Elk, Mule deer, Prairie bush rabbit, prairie chicken, sage grouse, duck, geese
The Metis live in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories. They mainly occupied major fur trading routes.
MUSIC AND DANCE
Religion
Music and dance was an important part of Meti's culture. They where known for playing the fiddle. Other instruments included the concertina, harmonica, hand drum, mouth harp and finger instruments such as bones and spoons. Their dancing was a blend of european, french, Scottish, irish and native influences
It was common for Metis to combine beliefs. Such as Cree, Ojibway and Catholic, but not too common that you saw it everywhere. But many were usually Catholic and went to Church, and got married in Churches as well. Either they took the religion of their mother (Whatever their mother's tribe was) or their father's (Catholic)
Who is Louis Riel?
Louis Riel was born October 1844 Red River Colony, Rupert's Land. His parents were Louis Riel Sr, and Julie Lagimodiere. As an Adult, he helped the Metis when English surveyors came to take their land and divide it up so European settlers could move in. He stepped on their chain and said "You go no further." He lead the Metis when they revolted against the Hudson's Bay Company to the Dominion of Canada

A Meti is a person who had a male european settler as a father and and an aboriginal women as a mother. For example, My meme, Elane Peters, is part Meti which makes my mother, my sisters, my brother and me part Meti too. ~Christina
