After The Battle

  • After the battle King George III wished to send more troops to fight but he did not have the support of the Parliament or the English people.

  • The Treaty Of Paris was signed after the battle giving the Americans their independence from the British.
  • Washington tricked the British into thinking that he was going to be in New York and then quietly moved his troops into Virginia

  • The English were starting to get bothered with the expense of the war.

  • Lafayette was secretly following Cornwallis and gathering reinforcements throughout the summer.

  • The French war ships were working to stop the British from reaching Yorktown.

  • General Cornwallis had moved his army into Yorktown. From here he planed to attack the American supply and communication lines.
