GMO Realized Benefits

Health

  • Reduced pesticide exposure for farmers
  • Lower pesticide residue for consumers

Other Controversial Developments

Economic

  • Less herbicide and pesticide use
  • More efficient use of land
  • Longer shelf life
  • Controls farm runoff
  • Creates jobs

There were many other controversial developments in the past. The most shocking is vaccines and antibodies. Most people today get vaccinations, but when they were first introduced many people were against them. They claimed, and some still do, that they do not work and are actually harmful to your body.

GMO Potential Benefits

Health

  • Reduce malnutrition

Economic

  • Can create a sustainable way to feed the world
  • Can produce renewable resources
  • Better photosynthesis
  • Self-fertilizing crops

When will benefits outweigh risks?

The benefits of GMO's will outweigh risks when there are more health benefits. Most of the GMO benefits are currently more economic than health. Whenever there are many personal health benefits, the benefits will outweigh the risks.
