My Reaction
The job-shadowing experience was a great way for me to learn more about the veterinary field of work by seeing it “up close and personal.” The job-shadowing also gave me an opportunity to ask questions, which gave me new knowledge prior to the knowledge I already had about vets.

Required education/training
Large treatment areas are available for examination of larger patients such as horses
1. Studies in physical and biological sciences.
2. Earn a bachelor's degree before they apply for admission.
3. Must have at least two years of undergraduate training at a university.
4. Must also pass your state's oral and written licensing examinations.
5. Must graduate from one of the twenty-eight schools of veterinary medicine in the United States, or they may study abroad.
The dog kennel rooms have a baffle system in the ceiling to reduce noise in adjacent rooms. The cats are in a separate room from the dogs.
Sick animals will stay overnight in the hospital
The small animal surgery suites are spacious to allow room for equipment and personnel. They can accommodate a large group to observe a complicated surgery such as this open-heart procedure.

- She loves her career because she can make a difference in the lives of people and animals everyday.
- Because there are so few schools of veterinary medicine in the United States, it is very difficult to be accepted into a program.
- Only students with the best academic records are admitted
- Due to the limited number of graduting Veterinarians, opening a new practice or working for an established practice is relatively easy.
