TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY: March 2, 1836, when the Texan leaders declared independence from Mexico at Washington-on-the Brazos.

The Declaration of Independence was patterned after the U.S. Declaration of Independence

  • San Jose Mission: Known as the "Queen of Missions". The first successful mission resulting in more settlements in Texas.
