In the summer of 2012, the president of Chick-fil-A, Dan Cathy, said that “we’re inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. And I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about” and that he is very “supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit.”

Chick-fil-A's corporate purpose states that the company aims “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”

But positivity isn't extended to those who aren't following what they perceive as right in the eyes of their faith

Distancing themselves from such concerns that directly correlate with the work they do, would not have been so infuriating had they not decided to take such firm stances in social issues like gay marriage.

Although Chic fil a claims that campaign is simply to show respect to law enforcement, it has heavily been interpreted as a direct insult to the "Black Lives Matter" Campaign
