Queen

  • The queen is represented in Canada by the governor general
  • Canada's head of state
  • The governor general has the ability to pass bills into laws by royal assent
  • There to make sure there is always a government.
  • Summons & Dissolves parliament

The House of Commons

  • a.k.a; The Lower House
  • 308 members
  • Each member represents an electoral division
  • Talk about national interest, study bills and vote, etc.
  • Members of house of commons are elected, so all the debates on bills related to public spending and taxation get raised in this house

Senate

  • Upper house of Parliament
  • Receives bills from the House of Commons to either; reject, examine, amend, approve
  • Introduce money bills

Executive Branch

This branch is responsible for and holds the power to hold debates and create laws. They can also amend laws. The elected representatives are what make the legislative assembly.

This branch is responsible for operating, implementing and enforcing all laws that the Legislative branch created. It is higher up and consists of the Queen who is represented by the Lieutenant Governor, as well as the Executive council. It is made up of Cabinet Ministers which are appointed by the Premier.

This branch manages justice by applying and interpreting laws. This is to protect the rights of citizens and giving punishment to those who go against the law. It is made of up Canada's system of courts, judging and operating solely from other branches of government.
