Cruelty

Shelters near you

Every year, lots of dogs are treated terribly by their owners. Dogs are beaten, shot, starved, and abandoned every day. Its so sad, but you can help to stop it. Those harshly

treated animals go to

need a new home.

  • Support a great charity- When you adopt, you know you're doing a great thing for you, your family, your dog, and for other dogs.
  • You can encourage others to adopt- When you adopt, you can tell others about it, and possibly help lead others to adopt also.
  • Stop cruelty- many dogs have had hrash lifestyles before adoption, so you can give them the love and care they deserve.

Reasons to Adopt

There are so many great things about adopting puppies or dogs. Here are a few.

  • Adopting saves a life- When you adopt a puppy rather than getting it from a store, the puppy's life is saved.
  • Adopting can save you money- Adopting a dog is much cheaper from buying it from a pet store.
  • Adopting helps with shelter overpopulation- Once again, adopting a dog helps bring it out of the shelter- the right way.

Adopting pets is a big step, but keep watching to learn why it could be a great idea to adopt.

Statistics

  • Each year, 10-12 million cats and dogs are killed because no one will adopt them.
  • Only about 15% of people who have dogs have adopted them.
  • In the U.S. alone, more then 4 million dogs go into shelters every year.
  • Of all the dogs put into shelters each year, only 30% will ever be adopted anytime in their life.
  • The average cost of taking care of a dog for a year is $5oo, which is actually only about $40 a month.
