Hierarchy of the Kingdoms
Tier 5
Phren mesur (Ruler)
- The phrennau mesur (rulers) preside over their kingdoms, tasked with keeping peace with the other kingdoms.
- The right to be on the throne of the kingdom is passed down through a bloodline stretching back to the first of their race.
- Higher ranked phrennau mesur possess certain abilities which are very hard to unlock. The unlocking be achieved by one of three methods:
- The first is meditating uninterrupted to the point where one can tap into the deepest places of their subconscious.
- The second unlocks the abilities much faster, but is far more painful. It is achieved through experiencing immense amounts of emotional and/or psychological trauma.
- The third is the fastest method, but also the most painful. A higly ranked phren mesur may unlock their abilities immediately by physical removal of their atalydd (blocker) through cutting it out with a special blade.
Tier 4
Flaenor (Elder)
- Residing in the palace, the flaenoriaid (plural) serve the purpose of providing the phrennau mesur with advice and counsel during times of struggle and catastrophe, especially war.
- None but the phrennau mesur know the identities of the six flaenoriaid, though it is believed by many that they are the first marchogion of the kingdom.
Tier 3
Marchog (Knight)
Hyfforddwr (Trainer)
- Residing and stationed in the palace, marchogion (plural) are highly skilled warriors whose main priority is to protect the phrennau mesur (rulers).
- Urdd marchog (knighthood) is offered only to the most exceptionally skilled feiticeiros, saethyddion, and filwyr.
- Since they have already mastered one of the three base disciplines, a candidate for urdd marchog is taken on by a marchog trainer to master the other two.
- Residing in the citadel, the hyfforddwyr (plural) have for millennia been tasked with teaching and guiding the future protectors and warriors of the kingdom.
- Each hyfforddwr specializes in being a feiticeiro, saethydd, filwr, ysbiwr, or marchog, having previously been one themselves.
- As hyfforddwyr pass on, so is the responsibility of moulding the kingdom's future heroes.
Tier 2
Saethydd (Archer)
Feiticeiro (Sorcerer)
Ysbiwr (Spy)
- Stationed in the citadel, saethyddion (plural) make up a portion of a kingdom's army and are also used as a line of defence in the case that the lower levels are breached.
- Saethyddion specialize in long-range combat, though they also learn some close-range combat in case they are ever engaged in tight spaces.
- Ysbiwyr (plural) are stationed in all levels except the palace, keeping their eyes and ears on the goings on of the kingdom.
- They are used mainly for gathering information and surveillance, but also for carrying out missions which need to be carried out in secret, such as: espionage, assassinations, infiltration, and sabotage.
- Being highly specialized their area, ysbiwyr are chosen very carefully and at a young age, as it takes years to perfect all these diciplines.
- Stationed in the citadel, feiticeiros make up a portion of a kingdom's army, and are also used as a line of defence, should the lower levels be breached.
- Feiticeiros are taken on at a young age by trainers who teach them how to tap into their abilities.
- Each student will usually specialize in one or maybe two branches of magic use, with highly gifted feiticeiros specializing in multiple branches.
Tier 1
Filwr (Soldier)
Gwyliwr (Guard)
- Also stationed in the lower and upper towns, filwyr (plural) make up a large portion of a kingdom's army.
- They are specifically trained in the arts of melee and hand-to-hand combat.
- Stationed in the lower and upper towns, giardiau (plural) are used to protect the lower levels from any attacking force.
- Giardiau may also be used in special cases when an individual is in danger and seeks protection.
