Taking Refuge in Canada
Headline 2
The Dangers of Refugees
- Thousands and thousands are fleeing Syria from the Civil War.
- some make it, some don't
- in the past 2 years, 27,180 Syrians have taken refugee in Canada.
- in order to take refugee in Canada, you must claim Asylum.
- the Canadian Asylum Program provides protection for those who have a well-founded fear of persecution, risk of torture , cruel and unusual punishment.
- not everyone can claim Asylum.
- as families come over seas to take refuge in Canada there is no documentation nor any questions regarding whether or not someone could be apart of Isis.
- although you can't bring any weapons or anything that could harm the country, who's to say they're not meeting up with a group here?
- bringing over Syrian's increases our risk in being involved with Isis. They're not supposed to be fleeing Syria. A big thing is why are they coming and who is to say they won't be the start of our next war? As of right now, Canada is uninvolved with Isis. Bringing in people who aren't supposed to be here will make things a lot more difficult.
