Studio Animation Documentation Step-By-Step "Guide"

Redesign

Testing and Evaluation

I took suggestions

Redesign/ Model

What I thought when I saw others was fascination that their minds came up with such different ideas than I had. It was pleasantly surprising. I was impressed with some, not so much with others.

Prototyping (Filming and Editing)

A: The challenges of this was discovering how to create the waves I envisioned.

B: The music unfortunately got messed up and somehow sped up.

Prototyping is a functioning version of the model. It is (arguably) easier to revise.

This step is further revise, and create a new model. I took others' opinions to mind, and thus fixed them to fair extent, but still keeping my values in mind. I definitely fixed the shots 3A-3D.

Identify the Problem

What was the problem? The challenge to make an introduction animation for our "studio". This assignment was given to me over a month ago and I had to get it done in time.

Design Brief

This was to figure out how to solve this "problem". The first step was to gather ideas about how to go about this, i.e. use clay, real people, pictures, etc.

Investigation

I had to gather information to allow me to solve the challenge. Still considering the restraints given to me, I had to discover a way to cover everything and still make it creative. I had already decided to use pictures.

Brainstorming

For this step, I came up with ideas and I had to get more serious about formatting a real solution. I had to make sure all my ideas could potentially be the answer. With brainstorming, there are little to no limitations for ideas. At this point, I had come up with 5 ideas.

Testing and Evaluation

My peers edited my work so far, which concluded of a storyboard and script.

Final Solution

Redesign/Final Solution

This is to revise the final solution, and basically redesign our scripts and/or storyboards. I definitely had to, because I needed more parts to different shots, (3A, 3B, 3C...)

During the final solution, I made a script for my 1 idea that seemed to be the best. Also, I broke this idea up into scenes and shots.

Possible Solutions

Model

My model was for aesthetic purposes and to help me visualize the prototype better.

This step was primarily to refine ideas, consider restraints, and analyze my ideas more. At this point we had 3 ideas left to choose from.

Testing and Evaluation

I and other classmates switched our papers to judge the formatting and choice of shots. In general, this step is to get different input.
