A very symbolic an deep rooted custom. The horse drawn caisson is pulled by six horses who are all saddled up. However, the horses on the right have no riders.
The "caparisoned horse follows the casket.

Another most recognized symbol is the flag. It's draped over the casket with the blue field over the head of the casket.
