A scan of the brain of
a person with Schitzophrenia
Schitzophrenia is also found in children and
has they same symptoms as adults with the
same disease, but minors cannot be diagnosed
with any major mental disorder because all
adolescents profile like sociopaths.
Schitzophrenia often causes
catonic or hyperactive behavior
and sometimes
violent tendancies
Schizoid Personality
Disorder
Schizoid Personality Disorder is
much like Schitzophrenia, but
without the hallucinations and
delusionary tendancies
Boo's highly indifferent behavior toward
stabbing his father but without signifigant
evidence supporting delusions and/or
hallucinations points toward Schizoid
Personality Disorder (flat effect.)
The scan of a person's brain
who has bipolar disorder
Boo's going from phsycotic
enough to stab his father with
a pair of scissors and go right
back to calmly making his scrap-
book suggests Schitzo and Bipolar
Disorders.
Society and the
Menally Ill
Throughout history, society
has cast out those who they
believe are different or not
"normal." The mentally ill
bear a very large brunt of this.
Certain treatments such as
lobotomies, straight jackets
and electroshock treatments
have been used on those who
society has deemed "Not All There"
This goes back to Boo (2 slides previous) and how he
was locked up in the courthouse. He was also often treated
as an outcast and/or very poorly by the residents of
Macomb County.
Many of the people feared him beacause of his differences

While To Kill a Mockingbird never specifically
tells you what Boo has, much of his behavior
points toward Schitzophrenia and/or Schitzoid
