- The song shows the trauma of losing someone close to you for an avoidable reason. The element is remembrance of something.
- In both stories, each character had lost someone very close to them so they had personal trauma . In Hunger Games, Katniss lost her father and in Outsiders, ponyboy lost his mother and father. In both stories, the main character remembers good memory's from something in their life which is now gone.
- In both books, the main character deals with it in very different terms and in both, they do it for different reasons. In hunger games, they bring it up for pity and in the outsiders, it is brought up because they need something to think/talk about
Bridges-Luke Christopher
- It shows how people will do anything to get away from their problems and have no remorse for any others. This element is called being selfish.
- All of the people in each of these stories(the hunger games and the outsiders) have experienced this element, or have dealt with others being selfish and overall being a bad person.
- The hunger games is more about getting the problems to go away completely and with the outsiders, it’s about running away from the problems. Also, in each story, people are selfish for different reasons. In hunger games, it is for survival and in the outsiders, it is about pride and for someone's morals.
"The hunger games" and the "outsiders"
Mix tape project by Aaron Butler
- This song shows the emotion of making a mistake and fixing it. The element is regret.
- In both books the characters make something happen and they have a very emotional reaction. For example in the outsiders, Pony and Johnny both have a reaction to saving the kids.In hunger games, Katniss and Peeta react to win
ning the games.
Lot to learn-Luke Christopher
- Shows how you as a human have to learn from their mistakes and have to own up to it also. It also shows how much stuff people will do to get away from their mistakes instead of owning up to it. The element is fixing problems.
- Each person in each story has to make a second chance attempt to save something. In hunger games, Katniss never tried to help her mother and therefore her mother neglected them and then she got her mom to snap out of it. In Outsiders, Johnny redeemed himself by saving the children from the fire.
- In hunger games, it can mean life or death and can ruin somebody's life. In outsiders, it can cause friendships to be lost and somebody’s morals can be destroyed.
- You always have a second chance to redeem yourself after making a stupid mistake and fix it. The element is that you always have a second chance.
Ivan B - Start Again (Prod. Tido Vegas)
- In both books the main characters learn from something they did and they are also fully open about it also. Katniss owns up to pushing peeta down and Pony owns up to what he did, to bob.
- In outsiders, the circumstances are way different than the hunger games because the outsiders has to tell the truth about other problems like stealing. The hunger games is about lies and a killing.
- In hunger games, they do it for survival but in the outsiders they do it for themselves and friends.
