There are four main components of ATPS steam units:

Boiler

Turbine

Generator

Generator Transformer

ATPS consists of five steam turbines units, each nominally rated at 130 MW gross and two hydraulic turbines with total capacity 6 MW.

Heavy Fuel Oil system(HFO)

These main components need a lot of auxiliary systems

For instance boiler need heavy fuel, feeding water, and combustion air.

Turbine need lubrication system, control oil system, and turbine gland steam

HFO system is provided to feed boiler burners with HFO at proper temperature and pressure.

There are unloading system, storage in tanks, supply pumps and heaters using steam as heat media.

C.C.C.W system is provide coolers for air compressors and analyses room are common

Temperature controlled through allow mixing of cooled and un-cooled water to maintain required temperature

Differential pressure control valve to maintain constant supply header pressure and operate as minimum flow control valve

Connecter to Chemical Feed System to supply corrosion inhibitor into the system in order to maintain pH=10

Lubrication system

7 tanks, 3 for stage 1 and 4 for stage 2

Tank capacity equal 43000m³

Each tank equipped with

Feed line

Bottom heater

Suction heater

Vents and drain

Temperature transmitters and indicators

Level transmitter

Fuel is filled in the tanks from two sources:

1- trucks

2- ships

Fuel transfer from truck unloading area to tanks by two pumps

Booster pumps to help for reach fuel to tanks from ship

The function of this system is:

Remove heat generated in journals

Lubricate the bearing

Provide lube oil to the jacking oil

Provide lube oil to the turning gear system

This system is provided to cool:

Generator air cooler

Turbine oil cooler

Turbine control oil cooler

Water box priming system cooler

Boiler feed water pumps cooler with related coupling and motor

Sampling system cooler

Instruments and service air coolers

Firefighting network

maintenance gates

Flame scanners

From tanks to the heaters by the main fuel pump with 60°C

Then to the boiler with 120°C

This system consist of :

Cooling water pumps : two single stage centrifugal pumps, the pressure is 5 kg/cm² and its capacity is 630 m³/h

Two main heat exchangers: use sea water to cool the closed cycle water

One expansion tank : located at 17m above ground to maintain suction pressure
