Slave agriculture, domestic, factories, and Culture/art.
Agriculture
Slave agriculture is mostly where they grow crops. The crops they grow are called cotton, rice, sugar cane, Tobacco, and other crops that slaves grow. They mostly have farmers near the Upper South (where they mostly grow Tobacco), Virginia near the James river (where they have elite farmers).
Where is slavery today?
What is being done to stop it?
Slavery still exists in many countries, even in the
United states! Even thought slavery still exists, stuff is being done to stop it, which is a good thing. Police officers are tracking and watching really popular cities.
Slavery is legal in some countries, there about 45.8 million slaves. The only India, Pakistan, China
Agriculture is also a concern. In Brazil, slave labor is utilized. Taking the sugar cane and not letting grow is not benefit for slaves and owners. The reason why it's not a benefit because some slaves or owners that eat the non-ripen sugar cane are prone to getting sick. And the soil that's old.
Domestic slavery wasn't really as common back then. BUT, lucky ones who had to be a house slave would be given left over food, and would actually get dressed and have actual clothing. There are some bad parts about being a house slave though, you won't get as much food sometimes, and you get paid less.
Back then when there was slavery, slaves would always sing. They do this because it means that they are working together in the cotton fields. And they are trying to get back their freedom. The types of music they would sing are Traditional, Work, and Recreational.
Nannies
Women during slavery would take care of the children and feed them. Or if they have time they would be weaving, spinning, or sewing.
Also 88% of the people who are nannies also had to work outside a for a while, though.
Sweatshops were mostly made for children. This was terrible job if you were a child, because you'd be in there for almost a day, never got any breaks, and got pay low wage.
