Parliamentary Democracy Government
- A system of government having the real
executive power vested in a cabinet composed of members of the Legiislature who are indivisually and collectively responsible to the Legislature.
- Examples include Great Britian, Australia, and Canada.
Democracy Government
- In a democracy, the citizens and the government share their power.
- Citizens have many rights and freedoms.
- The citizens get to vote on what goes on in the country and what happens to them.
- Examples include the United States of America.
Confederation Government
- A volunatry association of independent states
that often only delegate a few powers to the
Centeral Authorities.
- States retain considerable independence.
- Examples include the E.U., and OPEC.
Presidential Democracy
- A system of government in which
the president is constitutionally
independent of the legislature.
- The Executive branch exists seperately
from the Legislature which is generally not
accountable.
- Examples include the United States of America,
and France.
Autocracy Government
- One person possesses unlimited
power in this type of government.
- The oldest and most common form of
government.
- The ideas of the leader are glorified.
- Examples include the King of Saudi Arabia.
Oligarchy Government
- Where a small group of people exercise for control
mainly for selfish and corrupt reasons.
- The citizens have a VERY limited role.
- The small group of people most likely get their
power from military, social, wealth, religion, or a combination of these things.
Unitary Government
- The power is held by one centeral Authority.
- Examples include Haiti, Denmark, France, Ireland, Costa Rica, and Hungary.
