After the end of the long fought out world war two, because of the earlier Great depression that swept Canada, that made the birth rate decreasingly low Canadian solders returned young and eager to start a family. So with the improving economic conditions and a related trend over the same period toward larger families, it caused a large implode in the average amount of baby's being born and this "trend" continued for twenty years after the war and the increase in births over this time period has become known as baby boomers. As the large population from the age of the baby boomers became to the age that its members had moved into the labour force it has become greatly beneficial for the economy of Canada and they will continue to help the work force until 2031, large further additions to age groups in retirement are expected. With all these people being born all of different descent and in large amounts it is a main cause of Canadas modern day diversity.
NASA - First Person On The Moon
20 Jul 1969
NASA successfully took a leap for mankind by sending a man to place foot on the moon. Neil Armstrong was chosen for completing this mission and changing history forever.
This is an important event in history because for the first time ever, a human bean has completely a mission to the moon. NASA managed to send a man to the moon before the end of the decade which was their goal. This event was also called Apollo 11. This was my favourite point in history between 1945-1982 because this was a humongous world wide achievement and began a technological track that still continues today. As well because of this major event the world as achieved way more, landing drones on numerous planets and making the ability to manipulate space to help life on earth. The moon landing was the steeping block to all of these events.
The search for a new Canadian flag started in earnest in 1925 as a sense of independence and to show the world that Canada was its own country and so Canada could make trades with countries that disliked Great Britain. Later, in 1946, a select parliamentary committee was appointed with a similar mandate, called for submissions and received more than 2,600 designs. Still, the Parliament of Canada was never called upon to formally vote on a design.Early in 1964, Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson informed the House of Commons that the government wished to adopt a distinctive national flag. the reason the Maple Leaf was chosen to be the main symbol on the Canadian flag as Since 1921, the Royal Arms of Canada have included three maple leaves as a distinctive Canadian emblem. With the proclamation of Canada's new flag in 1965, the maple leaf has become the most-prominent Canadian symbol.
In what way was it similar to and/or different from the role it had played in earlier years?
Before the cold war era began and Canada was still partially under British rule, so the relation between the united States was fragile as conflict from the past two century's was still between the two. During and after the cold war the Relationship between Canada and the United Sates was strong as Canada fully supported ans supplied the states against Russia. So because of the support from Canada, the States and Canada became the closest of allies and still are today.

The Auto pact is an important trade agreement between Canada and the United States. It was signed by Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson and President Lyndon B. Johnson in January 1965. It removed tariffs on cars, trucks, buses, tires, and automotive parts between the two countries, greatly benefiting the large American car makers. In exchange the big three car makers (General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler) and later Volvo agreed that automobile production in Canada would not fall below 1964 levels and that they would ensure the same production-sales ratio in Canada. Before the Auto Pact the North American automobile industry was highly segregated. Because of tariffs, only three percent of vehicles sold in Canada were made in the United States, but most of the parts were manufactured in the U.S. and overall Canada was in a large trade deficit with the States in the automobile sector. The amount of cars being imported from Canada to the States was very small before the pact was established the tariffs were incredibly high. After the Pact was put into action it greatly benefited the Auto industry as before in 1964, only seven percent of vehicles made in Canada were sent south of the border, but by 1968, the figure was sixty percent. So Canada's Auto industry is still very prosperous because of the resuit of this very important Pact.
