Lost Wax
Finished and Dedicated on November 10 1954
Modeled in clay, then cast in bronze

- Dates back to 3rd millenium
- Incorporates clay mold coated in wax, wax is melted out and replaced by the metal
- Pieces are unique as the mold is destroyed in the process

- Uses synthetic rubber
- Cast in sections then put together
Carving
Styles - - Pt 1
In the Round - Freestanding sculpture that is
viewable from all sides (being able to walk
around it)
- Wood and Stone are the primary materials
- Materials used could have deeper meaning
Assembling
- Refers to parts of a sculptures are just placed on or near each other
- Constructing - - the parts are joined by fusing together
- Used to test ideas (similar to how painters would use drawings)
- Usually clay is used
- As long as clay stays wet, it's modable
- Once dried/fired, you have a finished product
