Charles Tupper was born on July 2nd, 1821 in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

Charles Tupper was in favor of Confederation, he was a medical doctor and a politician so he was a very intelligent man. His high school teacher said he was a problem solver.

He was first a medical doctor

He was elected for the Nova Scotian Assembly as a conservative.

Charles Tupper was strongly in favor of Confederation. He was in a colony that was mostly not a supporter.

Charles Tupper joined as a premier for Nova Scotia in 1864. In 1864 he was 43. He was a member of the conservative party.

Charles went to the Confederation conferences which eventually lead to confederation. It lead to Nova Scotia joining confederation in 1867.

At the Charlottetown conference he was Nova Scotia's delegate.

Once Nova Scotia was part of Canada he quit his job as premier and joined the federal conservation party.

Charles Tupper worked for Sir. John A. Macdonald. Tupper then became prime minister in 1869. Charles was only prime minister for ten weeks because he lost the election that same year.

Charles Tupper retired from politics in the 1900's. He passed away on October 30th 1915.

I chose Charles Tupper because of a lot of reasons but, the one that stood out the most was how influential he was in the confederation of Canada. Charles was their delegate at the Charlottetown conference and much more. That is why I chose Charles Tupper.
