Minos' wife back home indeed had a child that was half man and half bull, the Minotaur. Minos demanded that the builder Daedalus create a maze that would keep the monster enclosed.
Since Scylla had betrayed her father and people, she decided to go with Minos, whether he wanted her to go with him or not. Running into the sea, Scylla clung to Minos' retreating ships and hung tight. Nisus, who had turned into an osprey, flew to Scylla and tried to attack her. Scylla was terrified and fell from the boat where she was amazed that she too had turned into a bird.
The king of the city of Megara was Nisus, who had a tuft of purple hair which had the magic ability to protect his kingdom and people. His daughter was named Scylla.
Heartbroken, Scylla accused Minos' mother, Europa, of not being taken by Zeus posing as a bull, but rather mated with a bull itself. Scylla went further to insult Minos' wife by saying that she too had mated with a bull and had a monster for a child. However, Scylla was still in love with Minos, no matter what she called him.
At this time, a man named Minos was keeping Megara under seige. As Scylla watched him from the tower of her castle, she fell deeply in love with Minos and decided that she must assemble a dowry so that she could be his wife.
Appalled that Scylla would betray her father, Minos cursed Scylla, and yet still took Nisus' purple hair and conquered Megara. However, Minos was kind to the people of Megara and made sure to care for them before selling home.
The only sizable dowry Scylla could think of was her father's kingdom. Although she did not wish to give up her father's kingdom, Scylla was so in love with Minos that she could not think of anything better to give him. So she tore off Nisus' magical tuft of hair in the dead of night and stole off for Minos.
