Drone Technology in Bangladesh

Agenda

  • Recently Bangladesh has improved in their technological field. The teacher, students of Bangladesh continuously research about Drone technology . They already created some usual, excellent features and extra ordinary types of Drone.
  • Many University students show their latent talent in this field. They are trying their best for the improvement of drone technology. Ex: KUET, SUST, UIU .

History

Drone Technology

What is Drone?

  • ’Drones’ are probably the most advanced equipment in the field of robotics , aeronautics and electronics. The technical name of drones is ‘ Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.”
  • It is an unmanned aircraft. It is also called “Unmanned aerial vehicle”.

  • The earliest attempt at a powered unmanned aerial vehicle was A. M. Low's "Aerial Target" of 1916.
  • Nikola Tesla described a fleet of unmanned aerial combat vehicles in 1915.
  • More were made in the technology rush during World War II.
  • Jet engines were applied after World War II

  • The birth of U.S. UAVs began in 1959 when United States Air Force (USAF) officers, concerned about losing pilots over hostile territory, began planning for the use of unmanned flights.

Uses

  • Commercial aerial surveillance
  • Commercial and motion picture filmmaking

Mechanism

Types of Drones

  • Target and decoy – providing ground and aerial gunnery a target that simulates an enemy aircraft or missile
  • Reconnaissance – providing battlefield intelligence
  • Combat – providing attack capability for high-risk missions
  • Logistics – UAVs specifically designed for cargo and logistics operation
  • Research and development – used to further develop UAV technologies to be integrated into field deployed UAV aircraft
  • Civil and Commercial UAVs – UAVs specifically designed for civil and commercial applications

The development of air-vehicle autonomy has largely been driven by the military.

  • Sensor fusion
  • Communications
  • Path planning
  • Trajectory generation
  • Trajectory regulation
  • Cooperative tactics

Disadvantage

Advantage

  • Search and rescue
  • Scientific research
  • Armed attacks

  • Domestic drones violate right to privacy
  • Some drones are lethal and not just used for surveillance
  • People feel paranoid and like they're being watched by the government
  • With drones being unmanned flying machines, less aviation jobs are needed
  • They're very expensive and a rarity among the world

  • Targets for military training
  • Animal rights
  • Future potential
  • Has successfully struck militants of Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups
  • Intelligence gathered by surveillance drones contributed to the assassination of Osama Bin Laden
  • Helps detect forest fires
  • Monitor environmental data (i.e. populations of animals)
  • Can seek missing children.
