Iregular plural

Most nouns ending in the letters f, fe or ff form the plural by adding the letter s.

cliff, (hand)cuff, (ear)muff, sheriff, gulf, belief, reef, cliff, chief, safe, proof

Some change f into v and get es:

calf, half, knife, leaf, life, loaf, shelf, thief, wife, wolf, elf, self

Some have two plural forms:

dwarf - dwarfs or dwarves

scarf - scarfs or scarves

hoof - hoofs or hooves

man - men

woman -women

tooth - teeth

foot - feet

mouse - mice

goose - geese

louse - lice

child - children

ox - oxen

Some nouns have the same form in singular and plural

deer - deer, sheep - sheep, fish - fish

PLURAL OF NOUNS

Most nouns form the plural by adding -s.

(boat - boats, house - houses, boy - boys)

A noun ending in s, x, z, ch, sh makes the plural by adding

-es.

Nouns ending in y preceeded by a consonant change y into i and add es

bus - buses, box - boxes, pitch - pitches, wish - wishes

Nouns ending in o get:

-s:

radio, studio, video, tatto, zoo, solo,piano, casino, photo, kilo, armadillo

-es:

echo, hero, potato, tomato,torpedo, veto

-s or -es:

avocado, mango, buffalo, domino, ghetto, mosquito, tornado, volcano, zero, fresco
