Content Objective: SWBAT recognize the following sports action words - dribble, catch, throw, jump, kick and swing and use realia to demonstrate the actions to a small group.
Language Objective: SWBAT describe pre-determined sports action words by composing a short story using target vocabulary words and reading it aloud to a partner.
Content Objective: SWBAT alphabetize a series of words to the third letter and practice with target sports vocabulary words.
Language Objective: SWBAT identify sports-related action words using reading, writing, listening and speaking skills during a game of Sports Bingo.
Reading Activity
Students will play Sports BINGO using previously learned vocabulary words and then will alphabetize the winning set of words.

Activity Instructions
Watch the teachers!
1. You will receive one bingo card and some markers.
2. Listen and watch as the teacher reads and/or acts out a word.
3. Find the word on your Bingo card and put a marker over it.
4. When you put markers over five words all the way across one row or all the way down one column, stand up and yell, "Bingo!"
Activity 2 Instructions
1. Winner reads the winning words.
2. The teacher writes them on the board.
3. Look at the words on the board.
4. Turn your Bingo card over to the blank side.
5. Alphabetize the words on the board and write them on your paper.
(Alphabetize means to put them in alphabetical order.)
6. When everyone is done, help the teacher put the words in alphabetical order.
7. Which one comes first? Second? . . .

Content objective: SWBAT to identify the band instruments: clarinet, trumpet, drums, and tuba and the sound that each makes by listening to a recording of the instrument and going to the corner of the room that has a picture of the instrument.

SWBAT discuss within their group to plan their bar graph
Language objective: SWBAT explain what a character and a setting is in a story by sharing theirs with the class and providing 2 details about each.
SWBAT compare the density between two balls using the phrases "More dense than"/"Less dense than
Language objective: SWBAT correctly pronounce the name of the instruments: clarinet, trumpet, drums, and tuba and spell them correctly by saying the name when they go to the corner and writing the name of the instrument on a sticky note and placing it below the picture of the instrument.

Students will pick a sport, soccer, football, basketball, or baseball and provide the history and impact that they have had on the community. They will do this by creating a presentation through power point (or prezi).
