What is a University?
- Offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
- Graduate programs:
- Master’s degree or a Ph.D.
- May have a medical or law school for students wishing to pursue professional degrees.
- Some universities offer special programs where their students can earn both an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree in a reduced amount of time.
What is college?
- Community college, junior college, or technical
- Usually award certificates or associate degrees
- May allow guaranteed transfer to four-year colleges or universities
- Have limited housing if at all
- Are often significantly cheaper and close to home
Example: Central Georgia Technical College Macon ,GA
- A college is a smaller institution that typically offers undergraduate degrees

- Community colleges and junior colleges: may offer only two-year degrees
- (Associate degree)
- Most colleges offer bachelor’s degrees, and some colleges also have associate degrees.

- Admission Requirements (GPA, SAT/ACT Scores)
- Your Prospective Major
- 75-Word reason
- Focus on a particular faith
- Students may or may not practice religion to attend.
- Religion and theology incorporated into curriculum.
- Some may have behavior rules.
