Bantayan was invaded and it left a lot of bodies without the protection from the spaniards.
Paragraph 5
The Filipino citizens are starting to decline their labor and having their own false principles which are an evil elements that gives us blindness and obstinancy
Retaliation started from the pirates of the south and people from Mindanao (Malay) where piratical acts are prominent. They do not comply or approve with the spanish gov't which makes them as enemies.
The attack did a great damage and it continually reduced the inhabitants of the Philippines. As the malay's believed that it was necessary to weaken the Spaniard by reducing the number of his subjects.
These expeditions lasted for three centuries that is being repeated in five and ten times a year.

Paragraph 8
Because of Don Sabiniano Manrique De Lara "the governor" with his continual force labor and the executions of the Filipinos, the people weren't able to cultivate the land because they had to cut timber for the king's ship, thus the population had decreased. Further explanation for the depopulation would be because of workers feeling in the mountain, mother killing their babies, women being poisoned by vermins while sleeping in the farm. All of this caused the population to drop up to one third of its original population in less than 30 years.
The result of the war had a counter effect to the interior of spain, so in order to maintain the trade between China and New Spain, and the sovereignity, they needed timbers and rowers. Unfortunately for the filipinos, since they were located in the strategic positin between New Spain and indies, they were forced to cut timber and build ship for the King.
Spain took advantage of the resources they needed. A statement from the Governor of Laguna during those times, 6000 filipinos, who weren't fed well, had to haul and convey the timbers over broken mountains to the shipyard, and so they weren't happy about that.
The Spaniards persuaded the Filipino citizen by using them to do expeditions. Thousands of archers embarked but never returned to their homes.
When the Spaniards reached panay, there were more than fifty thousand families but it reduced greatly to fourteen thousand tributaries in just a half century.
Paragraph 2-3
Paragraph 6
Gaspar de San Agustin said that the uprising only started in that province when Don Sabiniano Manrique de Lara was the governor of these islands with his continual labor of cutting timber for his shipyard which hinders the people from cultivating their own land
Padre Agustin, "A Great Deal of Cotton of which made good cloth that the chinese and japanese bought every year."
Friars, "Very fertile plains for agricultural works".
These are one of the best examples that we Filipinos lived a very thriving productive life wherein we really succeeded in our industry, but what have happened to us? Is it really the Spaniards? Or our own indolence?
In the midst of all calamities wherein they do not know if they would see the sprout that they are planting, if all their doing will bear fruit.
The Friars thought that to free they must stop working and to break up their looms pointing out to them heaven as for their whole hope.
These false advices is what made the filipino to be inaction. A man always works for an object but if you remove that object it causes them to be inaction. They neglect their labor because they do not want to suffer anymore and just wanted to go to heaven as what the friars advices them.
