Trigonometry Used IN Architecture
How Trigonometry is Used
What is Architecture/What an Architect Does
- Architects can find the height of a building by using a clinometer to find the angle
- Triangles are used on roofs of buildings
- The smaller the angle, the less amount of material will be used
- The bigger the angle, the easier it will be for snow and rain to fall off
- The angle of the roof determines whether you can walk on it and what outer materials can be used
- Architects use sine and cosine to determine a vector's components
- Architects use trig to determine how much weight a certain area of a building can hold
- Architecture is designing buildings
- Architects draws a plan of the building
- Make 3-D models of the buildings out of plastic or cardboard, but usually make them on computers
- When designing buildings, architects make sure the building is functional, safe, and economical
Education/Training Required
- To become an architect, you must have a professional degree
- this is usually completed through a 5 year Bachelor of Architecture degree program
- Architects are required to complete at least 3 years of training
- After training, they must take a licensing test
- They must become licensed before performing architectural services
Potential Average Salary
The average salary of architects in America is about $78,743.

I first decided that I was going to research architecture because it was of most interest to me. I then researched each of the different topics on the internet. I used the internet for the majority of my research. I double checked a couple facts with my friend since her dad is an architect. I always made sure that each source I used was reliable.
