Paleontologists help us understand the past by digging up bones of dinosaurs. This helps us by showing us what they looked like and how they did things.

About the Scelidosaurus

  • It lived in the early part of the Jurassic period around 200 million years ago.
  • It got its name in 1861.
  • It could be from 10 to 13 feet long.
  • The Scelidosarus could also weigh from 500 pounds to 600 pounds.
  • Another thing about it is that it was a herbivore meaning it only eats plants.
