CHAPTER 29

- Maleeka and her mom hung up the congratulatios letter on the wall.

- Maleeka wants to say to Charlese that she told the truth about the classroom problem.

- Charlese called her and Maleeka told her all the truth but Charlese only laugh because she already knew it.

- But Charlese stole Miss Saunder's watch and put it on Maleeka's locker, so now she would get expelled because everyone thinks she is a thief and the one that cause that fire.

CHAPTER 28

Dear Diary:

Remember the acorn. Even when you don`t see it growing, it´s pushing past the dirt. Reaching for the sun. Growing stronger.

CHARACTERS

• Maleekas mom tell her to go to the store for some food for the breakfast.

• Walking to the store Maleeka see Jhon-Jhon; he start bothering at her. Jhon-Jhon tell to Maleeka that she do not have guts to tell about the mess accident.

• 3 boys show up all of a sudden, they tell Jhon-Jhon that his big mouth got one of them busted for shoplifting.

•The boys kick Jhon-Jhon as the point he have blood. People was only watching, so Maleeka finally find her voice and yell for sombody to call the cops (The cops never appear).

Jhon–Jhon: a boy of Maleeka's school who teases her. He is smart mouth and jokester.

Physic: he is dark skined.

Ms Madison: Maleeka´s mom. She is depressed by the death of her husband and also sews.She is devoted mother.

Physics: she is dark skin.

• But Maleeka saw the paper and thinks that all sounds good but those words are not real.

Maleeka: is the main character of the story. She suffered bulling because of her skin color, her friend is Char, and she is suspended.

Physic: tall, dark skinned, skinny, etc.

CHAPTER 27

Charlese: a popular girl of the school that shares her clothes to Maleeka in exchange for her doing her homework.

INTRODUCTION

• Maleeka hear other grown-ups and she hear a pop and slap, so the boys let her lose. She starts running.

• Caleb and his mom appear offering Jhon-Jhon and Maleeka to come inside their house.

•Momma give a letter that come from the library to Maleeka. She open it and it say that she was the winner of that year contest.

• Maleeka show the letter to her mother and both look at each other, then her momma starts crying. The reason was that she and also Maleeka wish that her Daddy were there for the good and bad stuff.

• Maleeka was punished by her mother after she was suspended.
• Her mother has tiny red bumps in her arms, neck and one of her earings.
• Maleeka was scared of the scolding her mother will gave her.
• Maleeka´s mother does not know how to pay the damages in the school because she does not have enough money to pay the 200 dollars.
• Char told Maleeka the deal that she make with her sister JuJu
• Maleeka talk with Char about the incident in the school and what would they do to get out of the problem.
• Maleeka write on her diary the following words

“The skin I´m in“ is a book about a girl name Maleeka, that suffer bulling in school because her skin color. Maleeka had many problems that she had to affront in her school and her house.

• Maleeka rember how a group of boys messesd her the day after JuJu´s party.

• Maleeka run across the street reaching into overground bushes in front of a house. She take some branches to make a good switch.

• Maleeka come to the boys with the branches, she felt very scare at that moment, but then she bit the first boy and he “screams like a baby“. After the boy get himself off Jhon-Jhon and come for Maleeka with the other two boys.

• Maleeka get scare again, so she drop that switch and close her eyes, she think she was gonna die.
