These three men were the most powerful Texans in the government and were essential in getting the New Deal into law.

  • FDR attempted to "pack" the Supreme Court
  • Many people criticized that the government had grown too large with the New Deal.
  • Many Texans in particular were angry about the government's interference in the state.
  • After 1938, there were no more major laws for the New Deal.

There were bigger issues to deal with by this time and most Americans were no longer worrying about the Depression.
