Christianity Change Over Time:

  • Main goal is to reach Nirvana (enlightenment)
  • Release form suffering
  • Do bad things = bad consequences
  • Do good things = good consequences
  • 4 noble truths:
  • 1.) the truth of suffering
  • 2.)the truth of the cause of suffering
  • 3.) the truth of the end of suffering
  • 4.) the truth of the path that leads to suffering

Easier to get into the religion now.

Christianity spread throughout the whole world.

There are about 2.2 Christians in the world today.

Christianity is a little bit different now then when it started by how they study and view other people.

  • Beliefs: Belief in God the Father, Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit.
  • The death, descent into hell, resurrection and ascension of Christ.
  • The holiness of the Church and the communion of saints.
  • Christ's second coming, the Day of Judgement and salvation of the faithful.
  • Afterlife: Judgement after death, heaven.
  • It will affect anyone in the afterlife if they are a good person and try to learn about it.
  • Christianity is more of quiet contemplation than an active industrious lifestyle.

Then went to Ceylon, Burma, Nepal, Tibet, central Asia, China and Japan.

Buddhism spread to china through the silk roads (trading routes.)

Sent out monks to teach the word of Buddha.
