Even though practically all teenagers know media

images are unrealistic they still have an influence.

Low self esteem can cause behavioral issues, limit a teenager's achievement, and even cause illnesses.

Those with eating disorders can sometimes feel that they are fine because of overly thin women in the media.

Eating disorders- Have a distorted body image

  • Someone with anorexia starves themselves and goes through rigid exercises schedules.
  • An anorexic is often proud of the way they look and how they are able to maintain a diet.

Bulimia

  • A person with Bulimia will eat large amounts of food and then gets rid of it.
  • They get rid of the food by throwing it up or by taking pills.
  • Because of the ways they get rid of the food other severe symptoms arise.
