Helping Distribute Communion in Church

• For this job, I had to pass out the communion to all of the people in the church. Again, the church always needs volunteers so they appreciate the help a lot. This job was beneficial because I got to see the gratification people got when I helped them. Photos are on the next slide. ( I am in the grey shirt)

Successes/Challenges

• One challenge to this volunteer work was that my original plan for volunteering was to work at a local veterinarian clinic in Missoula helping animals. I wasn't able to do this due to the confidentiality of taking pictures and discussing the animals various conditions. I also wasnt able to do this due to the absence of the vet in the clinic on vacation.
• Another challenge was that I had to plan volunteer dates ahead or else they would have scheduled other people for volunteer work.
• A great success of this project was that I learned that I greatly enjoy helping people and I plan to continue to volunteer at this church due to the satisfaction I got from volunteering.

Recomendations for Future Work

• I volunteered at a local Missoula Church. My work mostly included helping out before, after, and during masses to serve the people and help ensure that everything was running smoothly. The jobs that i did include reading for the people during the mass as well as passing out communion, and collecting donations for the church. The church always greatly appreciates volunteers because they are in constant need of people to do these jobs at every mass.

• In the future, I would recommend that I check ahead with the veterinarian in Missoula even more to ensure that it will work for my timeline and project type. I also recommend that I continue to work with the church and volunteer.

Reading in Church

This is one of the jobs that I did as a volunteer. I read bible verses to all the people at the church. The church appreciates volunteers who read bible verses because they are the toughest volunteers to find. I am in the blue collared shirt with the tie. (sorry for the bad photo quality) the photo is on the next slide.

My Accomplishments

• I accomplished a lot during this volunteer experience. The accomplishments were both for myself and for others. One accomplishment was that I was able to provide help for a church that was very greatful for my help and service. Also, I accomplished the very important job of bringing smiles to the faces of many people who were able to directly benefit from my volunteer work. Lastly, I was accomplished because I learned something about myself, that I enjoy helping people in any way that I can.

What I Got Out of This

The people at the church were thankful for the help I gave them and I had a great time volunteering and helping.

• I took a lot away from this presentation. I learned that people appreciate more than you might think the help from youth volunteers like myself in the community. I also was able to further realize that our society is a set of interrelated parts, and volunteering is something that anyone can do to ensure that all people get along in a society and to increase the productivity, efficiency, and happiness of the members of our society. In short, everyones contributions are neccesary.
