William Morris Davis Died on February 5th of 1934 in Pasadena, California just before his 84th birthday

  • William Morris Davis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 12th, 1850
  • Son of Edward and Martha Davis
  • Grandson of Lucretia Coffin Mott

  • Davis was a founding member of the Geological Society of America and was acting president in 1906, and in 1911
  • Also apart of the founding of Association of American Geography and was acting president in 1904, 1905 and 1909.
  • Davis was a member of over 30 scientific societies
  • 1879 Davis Married Ellen B. Warner of Spring field, Massachusetts
  • After Ellen's death William married Mary M. Wyman of Cambridge, Massachusetts
  • After Mary's death he married Lucy L. Tennant of Milton, Massachusetts, who luckily survived him.
