Baby dies, Tom goes looking for Mary and finds her coming out of a trailer drunk with another woman
Tom drags her by her hair, contemplates hitting her, but doesn't. Takes her back home to their deceased son.
- Tom tried to take the baby to the doctor, and no one would give him a ride, so he tried walking into town.
- Tom realized his baby was going to die, and there was no hope, so he headed back home.

- Next day came, Mary went to work for the lady to get the dress, Tom took the baby with him fishing.
