VERSE
Quatrains and Octaves
A single line of a poem.
A stanza or poem that contains four lines is a quatrain (think quad that you ride)
A stanza or poem that contains eight lines is an octave (think octopus)
Be careful....
Don't confuse VERSE with STANZA!

Think of your favorite songs...refrains are used repeatedly in music...which is essentially a poem set to notes and rhythms
