Video Games' Effect On The Human Body
Good morning. Today I’m going to be discussing video games and its effects on the human body. Nowadays you just hear people citing How games lead to various of the problems affecting present-day society. I don’t necessarily believe this is true. That’s why I’ve made it my point to find the positive aspects of engaging in video games for extended periods of time.
On the contrary, certain types of games are actually very effective in fighting childhood obesity. Studies in New Zealand show that children who play games that use motion-detection software actually lose weight.
In conclusion, contrary to popular belief, games are actually beneficial to the organism. I've already presented a few of the positive effects, there are a few more consisting of, but not necessarily limited to, heightened visual acuity, enhanced contrast sensitivity (as stated previously), improved ability to track multiple moving objects, enhanced divided attention abilities, and improved hand-eye motor capabilities. It's basically a general improvement in visual, motor, and auditory functions.

There’s been various studies that all come to the conclusion that certain simulation games actually help to improve manual dexterity. One of the most common fields this is used in is the field of surgical medicine. Studies show that surgeons who play games regularly actually exhibit higher levels of dexterity than those that do not, in short, they’re able to work much more efficiently with their hands.

Conclusion
The study for this consisted of a test to see a surgeon's skills. After the test, the surgeons were given a regimen consisting of video games. After the assign gaming regimen, participating surgeons' skills had improved.

Studies have shown that people who played games were actually better at determining whether sounds and images were in synch with each other. This would, as a result, indicate that people who play games have better multisensory processing skills. It's basically linked to your ability to multitask efficiently.
Perhaps the most common argument against video games is that they affect your vision negatively. This is not the case. If following proper gaming procedure, damage to the eyes is nonexistant. Certain types of games even improve your vision.

Action- Based Video Games
Vision, continued...
Certain types of games, action-based video games, actually help improve some of your eyes' functions.
Action game is a video game genre that emphasizes physical challenges, including handeye coordination and reaction-time.
Studies done on video game players (VGP) and non-video game players (NVGP) of the same age show that VGP had much better contrast sensitivity than the average child. NVGP then went through a boot camp of sorts, where they played a regulated amount of action-based video games. Their sensitivity also improved.
