Incorrect: I'm really tired, I'm going to take a nap.
Correct: I'm really tired. I'm going to take a nap.
Incorrect: I'm going to prom, I want to dance there.
Correct: I'm going to prom; I want to dance there.

2.) ADD A CONJUCTION
Definition: A comma splice consists of two or more independent clauses that follow one another and are incorrectly linked together only with a comma (or commas).
Example: It is nearly half past five, we cannot reach town before dark.
You can add a conjuction after the comma in order to make the sentence correct (FANBOYS)
