Production

Mostly grown in hot and humid areas of the world such as California, Florida, Arizona, and Texas.

Grown in 55-100 fahrenheit degree weather.

Harvest is done by a method known as canopy shaking.

For succesful growing farmers need to prevent frost from getting on the oranges.

Processing

Once the oranges are collected they are sent to conveyers where they are washed.

After that they are separated for whether they are best for regular oranges or orange juice.

Packaging

The oranges are seperated for the quality of juicing then they use a juice to break down the oranges.

The orange juice is then frozen, this is known as frozen concentrated orange juice.

The orange juice is pasteurized, which means its heated for a short period to kill all the germs.

Sometimes, depending on the provider, the orange juice is fortified with vitamin D to make it more healthy

Distribution

The orange juice is then distributed by trucks.

It is key that the trucks are made to help preserve the orange juice so it doesn't lose any of its quality.
