- The world's massive hunger problems could be greatly alleviated by reducing or elimination meat-eating.

Guidelines for the Hinduism Diet are :
Problems/Obstacles practitioners of the diet encountered :
- Hindus may abstain from water and food through the entire time of fasting.
- Other Hindus may not eat grains, lentils and beans, but may have milk, fruits, nuts,and vegetables.
- Others may have only milk and fruit through the time of fasting.
- High in Copper
- Low in Zinc
- Too high in Carbohydrates
- Low in protein
- Poor quality proteins
- Extremely low in vitamin D
- Very low in the essential amino acids
- Extremely low in omega-3 fatty acids
- Too much Yin
- Often low in B-complex vitamins
- Very low in etheric energy
Basis for these guidelines :
- The reasoning behind these guidelines is because Hindus are religious.
- Beef is prohibited
- Brahmins may have restrictions on who prepares their food and how it is stored.
- In the calendar, there are days and periods with restrictions such as eating only plant foods.
