- Football- when the team comes into the huddle the assistant coach would use a drum so the deaf person can feel the vibrations and know what hut they are going to use.
- Track- A hearing person hears the bang of the gun and begins to run, and the deaf see a wave from a ref or flag before running.
- Baseball- The signs used by the refs today like "strike" or "ball" helps the deaf person know what call they got.
- Swimming- A hearing person knows when to start swimming by a whistle. A deaf person watches for a light to go off before the race.
