Praise

I

As you may see, this story is about the life

of a basketball player, Josh Bell, and his

brother, Jordan Bell. Their parents are

Chuck and Crystal Bell - as you know. Every chapter

has something to do with basketball. The start of the book

starts with -?- saying:

One more reason why you should read The Crossover is not because of what think, but from what everyone else thinks.

"Kwame Alexander's sizzling, heartfelt story in verse, The Crossover, gives readers that rich sense of SWISH! we feel when a basketball drops perfectly through the net" ---NAOMI SHIHAB NYE, National Book Award finalist.

This book has won TWO medals - The Newbery

Medal,and the

Coretta Scott King

Award (HONOR), too.

HONOR

...See what I mean about all of that A C

F N Y stuff? Anyway, basketball is included in the other 5 chapters, too. Actually, the chapters are named off: Warm-up, 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd quarter, 4th quarter, and Overtime. Plus, you may learn a couple

basketball words like 'broken-ankles' (it's not what it sounds like).

Josh Bell

(and other Characters)

From now on, let's call him Filthy McNasty. There's a whole story on how he got that nickname, but that's a story for another time. Filthy is (quote),

" I'm 6 feet tall, all legs ". His brother is now known as JB. JB says that, because his name is Jordan so he doesn't want to 'sweat' his favorite player, Micheal Jordan. Though JB does have every Jordan shoe available - even the limited edition Barack Obama Airs...

Their mother is Crystal Bell, principle at Filthy and

JB's school. Their dad, Chuck Bell, is a one-time NBA champion.

He says he's retired, but he decides to coach eventually.

From now om we'll call him Da Man. He was so good that eventually his teammates called him Da Man and a couple other nicknames. But, before he can coach, he - HEY! If you want to learn about the life of a basketball player, this book is gonna be awesome for you. If not, it's still is a nice book. While JB's the 5ft guard, Filthy's the 6ft post. Josh...umm....Filthy is as reckless as he is careful. Plus this is a 1st person point of view from Filthy.

What about Deandre Jordan?!

Book report by: Chris Fulford

Time

Sadness

I done it in a week and a half!

"Are you having a tough time with that bother-

some 40 book requirement? Then you need

Oxiclean-UMM this book (nailed it!)! This book isn't one of those '1 - 2 - 3 - done!' sort of books. Yet it's not one of those books that takes a month. Though it has 237 pages, it has poetry on each page. You could crank out one of those poetry slots, have that sense of pride saying, "Yah, I just completed a 237 page book!", in less than 2 weeks!" (hmmm......I feel like I just sounded a lot like one of those guys who do commercials)

The Crossover book report!

Author: Kwame Alexander

Sadness is another key part of this book. This book definitely gives at least a little sense of teary-eyes. If it's when JB won't talk to Josh ; When Filthy gets banned from Basketball; And especially when-

(A.K.A Filthy McNasty.)

WHHOOOOOAAAAA!

The Crossover.

the crossover is a somewhat poetic book about a

basketball player named josh bell. his family consists

of his brother, JB (Jordan Bell), his mother, crystal

bell, and his father, chuck bell. this book also mentions his friend, vondie, and his brother's girlfriend who he calls miss sweet tea. you'll usually find josh at a basketball game, his house, helping his brother with a strange situation, school, or at a ____, starting on March 18, 2014 or when the book was written / published.

I'll leave you to find the end.

Of course, you can't have a book without at least a little bit of twist, drama, or sadness. I must say it was definitely nice to have a little sad. PLUS: It wasn't depress-sad, it was normal-sad (to me atleast).

The text is a major part of this book and

why this book is awesome. It shows you new ways to write, and challenges you brain to read strange words.

Every page is filled with an unusual

set-up of words. for instance,

is a part. S

e is another. And even just confusing poetry.

I'll show what part of a page is like in my basketball slide(S).

Ba-Bye for now......

The Text

Quick summary

Josh bell is a free-falling basketball player playing for the wildcats. josh will end up going through many struggles and trying to find ways out. Balancing his brother's new girl friend, miss sweet tea, going to state for basketball, his dad having unknown heart-attacks, and keeping school, his brother, JB, and himself aline, he may not get through all. in this case, he gets through some, but loses not a game.....something else.......

To conclude,

I love Basketball
