Despite the curse of the hope diamond, people still wanted to own it. In 1912 an American named Evalyn Mclean bought the hope diamond. She paid $154,000 for it.
A bad luck seemed to follow the diamond wherever it went. was it sheer coincidence ?

The diamond was huge and bigger than any diamond he had ever seen. It was embedded in a statue of the Hindu god Rama sita.
IN 1947 Evalyn died. The diamond seems to have end. The hope diamond has been on public display ever since it got to the smithsonian in washington D.C.
