Some diseases that affect the skeletal system

The resources that helped me with my research on the skeletal systems are:

Bone cancer: Causing bones in our body to weaken.

Osteoporosis: is a condition in which bones become brittle and weak due to the extensive loss of bone tissue, also commonly results in bone fractures of the wrist, spine or hip, which can even be caused by mild stresses such as coughing.

Spina bifida is a birth diseases that effects the development of the spinal cord while a baby is in the uterus.

Arthritis: is an condition that affects your joints, such as the knees, or a portion of your spinal column. symptoms include joint pain, swelling and stiffness by a reduction in the ability to freely move your joints

Other interesting info

Who has more bones a baby or an adult?

Babies have more than adults! At birth, you have about 300 bones. As you grow older, small bones join together to make big ones. Adults end up with about 206 bones.

What is a bone made of?

Bone is made mostly of collagen, a protein that is woven into a flexible framework. Bone also contains calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate, minerals that add strength and harden the framework. The combination of calcium and collagen gives the bone its strength and flexibility.

How do bones break and heal?

Bones are tough and usually don't break even when we have some pretty bad falls. Bones will bend a little, but if you fall the wrong way, you can break a bone. Doctors call a broken bone a fracture. There are many different types of fractures.

Luckily, bones are made of living cells. When a bone is broken your bone will produce lots of new cells to rebuild the bone. These cells cover both ends of the broken part of the bone and close up the break.

Skeletal system!

Skeletal system description.

How the organ works

1st the skeleton protects our organs suck as the brain, heart,

& the lungs.

the skeleton the name given to the bones that holds our body up.

Our skeleton is important to us,

Well the skeletal systems does not work, but it protects, helps protect your internal organs and fragile body tissues. The brain, eyes, heart, lungs and spinal cord are all protected by your skeleton The skeleton works very closely with the muscular system to help you move.

2nd it gives us the shape that we have, without that we would be a blob of blood & tissue on the floor.

3th it allows us to move to places, cuz our muscles are attached to our bones, so when our muscles move , our bones move, so we move.
