Kenya
The children are ecstatic and proud to be in the classroom.
The children want people to know that they have learned. They are willing to show off everything they know.
It is important that the students learn more than just text book education.
They must learn to grow food.
The students are taught to engineer
objects that are used for
transportation.
The kenyan students are taught to be carpenters and be resourceful with the tools they have.
Not only is it difficult for children to get started in school because of all the responsibilities they take on in the house hold but it is hard for them due to the costs.
They have to pay for textbooks and uniforms.
Some funds were offered
to enhance the learning of students.
Teachers are looked up to. They now have an identity. Teachers are seen as the "moral fiber of their nation."
Children are left alone a lot of times.
Some don't live long enough to grasp many memories.
Some don't want to go home after a day at school.
School is a get away place for the children.
Some children only want to succeed.....IN EVERYTHING!
It's a place to learn not only how to read and write...
BUT a place to learn how to survive....
