If there are consequences of skipping class and misbehaving, students are less likely to skip in order to continue participating in their extracurricular activity.

  • When involved in activities they will be in charge of completing certain tasks
  • Having these tasks to do forces them to use their after school time wisely
  • This will improve their homework completion and the quality of their assignments because they will have learned not to leave it to the last minute, which will affect their overall performance in school and their final grades

Conclusion

Extracurricular activities have an overall positive effect on high school students, and these positive effects promote success in academics.

Question:

Primary Research Conclusion

Do extracurricular activities have a positive impact on high school students and their school experience?

In conclusion, my primary research mostly proves that my hypothesis is true, most of the long answers proved that extracurricular activities do have a positive effect on students and that they enhance the learning experience, and these two things put together can help a student achieve academic success.

I think they have a positive impact on students because it expands their minds and makes them think in more creative ways. - Female, gr 9

Positive! Gives a good balance between school and recreation, and also give us a chance to live healthy active lives! - Male, gr 12

Yes, it helps them find things they're interested in, have a better understanding of others (because of the extra social aspect) and enables them to learn about things other than what we're taught in class - Female, gr 11

"Yes you learn how to time manage and meet new people" - Female, gr 11
