Plot Advancement
- Lady Macbeth sees blood on her hands which symbolizes that she is not as brave as she thought she was
- The witches tell Macbeth prophecies which lead to him committing the crimes he was thinking about
- There was also irony towards the end of the play when we see Lady Macbeth get weaker and Macbeth get stronger

- Gets everybody to believe he is a gentleman
- After becoming King of Scotland, he destroys the order of Scotland
LADY MACBETH
- Appears to be a soft lady, but is cruel inside
- Appeared to be evil, but in fact was a gentleman

Key Passages
- Our example of imagery from the play would be Macbeth's castle.
- It is described by King Duncan as a very warm and welcoming place
- Shakespeare uses imagery to describe Macbeth"s Castle
- "This castle hath a pleasant seat. The air nimbly and sweetly recommends itself unto our gentle senses"(Act 1 Scene 6)
- King Duncan's Murder occurs at the very same Castle
- "Fair is foul, and foul is fair " is one of the more well known quotes. It signifies the use of deceptive appearances used throughout the play
- "None of woman born / shall harm macbeth" (4.1.96–97) This is another key passage from the play showing the theme of appearances and be decieving.

- Macbeth's character advances throughout the play
- Macbeth lost several friendships along the way
- Friendships with King Duncan, Banquo, Macduff
- Problems started within those relationships once Macbeth killed King Duncan
