Not only is exercise an important aspect in managing stress, but so is eating right. There are four groups to the food guide. Meats, Dairy, Breads and Vegetables! If you can balance these properly, stay fit and healthy. You will feel the difference!
As previously stated, stress can have positive effects and negative effects. This talk is mainly focused on how to handle the negative aspects of stress and how to prevent it. Can anyone think of any ways that you yourself, or someone you know manages their stress?
There are two types of stress: distress and eustress. Distress can be described as "bad stress". This is the type of stress causes worry, anger, sorrow, or pain. It may also cause:
* Lack of sleep
* Accidents
* And negative relationships with others
Examples of distress can include anything from: not completing an assignment on time to the loss of a loved one.
Eustress is defined as "moderate physiological stress interpreted as being beneficial for the ones involved". What this simply means is, it is a type of stress that can make you want to better yourself. An example of eustress is, during a sports tournament. There is a lot of competition during a sports tournament, and the stress that you feel will want you to do a good job for not only yourself, but your team as well. Possibly improving your performance.
