Battles Of Monmouth

The Battle of Monmouth took place on June 28, 1778. George Washington was a very dedicated person at this battle as he was the General that was waiting for 40 hours to attack and then finally Washington set out with his army to attack the British army from behind. George Washington took control of the battle as he did not think that General Lee was doing a adequate job and he was determined to win this battle. Although Washington was dedicated and did attack the British the battle was claimed as stalemate, and neither army had won with equal forces.

Battle of Princeton

George Washington was very experienced, especially in his time fighting wars alongside with the British. He participated in the French and Indian War, which resulted in a victory for Britain and a loss for France. His great leadership and decision making at an early age led to him becoming a very good General in the Continental Army.

Soon after the Battle of Trenton, which had occurred on January 3, 1777, George Washington and his troops had taken back roads to flank the British. This led to a strategic victory for the Americans. He successfully used his knowledge from prior battles such as the Battle of Monmouth and Trenton. Ultimately, Washington's use of prior knowledge led to this being a tremendous triumph for the Americans.

George Washington was born in Virginia on February 22, 1732 and became a member of the Virginia militia, at the beginning of his career. He fought with the British in many battles and the French and Indian War. George Washington wanted independence from Great Britain and became a Patriot. Soon after the Continental Congress formed, he was chosen to be the general for the Continental Army, leading the colonists to war against the British in the American Revolution.

Battle of Yorktown

George Washington was a very decisive in planning and executing his attacks against the British. For example, he and his troops had crossed the icy Delaware river during winter, surprising the British in Trenton, killing 150 soldiers and capturing over 900 more, without a single American death, resulting in a clear victory for the Patriots. After this the British attempted to retake Trenton multiple times, but failed in doing so.

The Battle of Yorktown took place on September 28, 1781 to October 19, 1781. George Washington led the Americans against the French and British inside of Yorktown, Virginia. His experience fighting with the British army, gave him knowledge of tactics and fighting styles of their army. This knowledge led to the win of the American Army and the French army.

Dedicated

George Washington fought in many battles for the colonists and for the British. This shows that he is dedicated to his army. For example, George and his army suffered through a freezing winter 18 miles outside of Philadelphia in Valley Forge during the winter of 1777-1778 where many died by freezing. This wasn't the last time he went through ice. Again Washington led his army for 10 days to Trenton to launch a surprise attack on the British across the Delaware River.
